Description: A granny flat, an old house, a builder and a lot of issues surround this job we undertook in Ashton. The building works ending up taking about six months and in that time the owner had no heat, no running water5, no gas and only a few utility plugs that the workers weren’t using at night. My advice is NEVER live on a building site no matter how economic you think it is! Our job was to install the required unvented cylinder to supply one full kitchen, one bed sit kitchen, one full bathroom, the bedsit bathroom and two en suites as well as supply enough heating for this VERY large property. We chose the Megaflow Systemfit Cylinder for it’s reliability and the fact that is was pre-piped, pre-wired and ready to connect. The gas supply was a substantial distance from the boiler and kitchens so we chose TracPipe® in order to avoid too many elbows and manual pipe bends which would have cut back our pressure. The main contractor undertook the general pipe work throughout the property as well as fitting out the bathrooms, kitchens and radiators. When they were ready we came in to connect the cylinder to the domestic hot and cold water circuits as well as the heating circuit. The boiler was finally connected to the gas, flow and return pipe work and electrics and despite a few hiccups with the new pipe work and the sub zero temperatures that week they had heat and hot water for the first time in six months.
