Description: The remit was to replace the old balanced flue system boiler with a combi boiler and relocate to somewhere other than between the middle of the kitchen windown and doorway where it clearly should not have been for safety reasons. The safety issues weren’t just the CO issue but the previous installer also cut out all but two bricks which were supportingt all of the brickwork above! We decided to relocate the boiler to the loft and keep the kitchen free from extra cluter. It became apparent early on that the old heating system had been installed by somebodt with little knowledge of heating design and the skills to match. The original timer had one setting! Either heat and hot water were on or they were both off. There was no way to seperate the two. When we started to remove all the old pipe work we found out why. The heating coil in the copper cylinder was being fed directly off the same pipe work as the heating system. We had to divide the two systems and after locating all of the required old pipe work we ran new runs up to the combi. We also added a remote filling loop and pressure gaige to the boiler so that the home owner could monitor the system on a reglual basis without having to run up and down the loft ladder.  Alll in all it was a challange to move this boiler but the kictchen is now open and the old gas burning boiler has now been replaced with an energy efficient Viessmann Combi.
