CORGI Castrated by CAPITA Coup de grâce

Well it looks like we’re going from the frying pan to the fire with the announcement that CORGI has lost in it’s bid to run the gas registration scheme from 2009 to 2014. The HSE has stated that the preferred bidder for the scheme will be CAPITA.

So what does it mean for all of us, the plebs that pay for this scheme. Well it means we will be shortly leaving the fire and heading for the frying pan. The real shame of all of this is that if CORGI had just listened to it’s plebs, uh, members perhaps we they wouldn’t be where they are and perhaps we wouldn’t be heading into the pan. Perhaps they would have had the support they needed from those members who are forced to be members whether they deliver or not. The Labour Party just learned the same lesson.

Speaking for myself all I ever wanted CORGI to add to their remit was better education to the public so they knew why it was better to hire a registered operative instead of a cowboy.

Perhaps the NIC EIC should pay attention. At a recent electricians event it didn’t sound like they are giving their members anything but lip service either.
