Description: This bathroom renovation was part of a larger refurb…we practically rebuilt the entire house! Our client had purchased the property and had always planned on having all the work completed before she moved in. Although we’re only showing the bathroom here we also installed a new boiler, radiators and relocated the boiler from the kitchen to the upstairs airing cupboard, we completely gutted the kitchen and installed a new kitchen including all electrical work, we cleaned up the rest of the properties electrics and fit a new updated consumer unit, many walls and ceiling were repaired and re-plastered, the outside gutters and facia were repalced and the entire house was decorated and carpeted when complete. continue

Firstly, my apologies for not posting last weeks award until today. It seems that I didn’t press the Publish button last week.
This particular property has been winning awards for poor workmanship for over a year. We keep getting called back in for one problem, get it sorted, and then several months later get called in for something else. This week was another issue with the central heating system and another wet patch showing up on the ceiling. There may also be a hive of bees in the flat roof too! continue

Description: We started planning this bathroom for our client two years ago. By removing the old system boiler andd hot water cylinder from the airing cupboard in the bathroom and relocating the boiler from the kitchen to the loft we were able to expand the bathroom giving us enough room to install a seperate shower area. The owner also decided that she wanted a wet room instead of a shower stall so that’s what we built for her. continue

While working on another job we were approached by a neighbour to look at a suspected rising damp issue. She explained that someone had come in a couple of years earlier and plastered over the already occurring damp problem. So of course everything looked good for a short while and then the build up and surface salt started showing up, the wallpaper started pealing and the paint started blistering inside and out. You cannot stop damp with a bit of plaster and a lick of paint!

Last weeks winning Cowboy Of The Week is also this weeks winner too! We thought we had all of the problems sorted out on this bathroom renovation last week. We repaired unsafe electrics, plumbing that was bodged and likely to create future flooding issues, a bodged and leaking roof vent and UNSUPPORTED water damaged dry lining to the ceiling. So with all that work completed the bathroom was tiled and all appliances ready to refit. What else could go wrong? continue
