Description: The remit  was to swap the bathroom built on an outside wall to a larger room next door with no outside walls or windows and add a seperate shower . The windowless room was created when an extension was added to the rear of the house years earlier and was being used as a storage room.  All other appliances were to be reused and of course all pipe work was to be extended with new. The largest issue here was the fall required for the length of  waste pipe for the toilet. We did have to lower a section of ceiling in a downstairs utility room to get it installed correctly. All outside waste pipes were replaced and previous poor workmanship repaired at the same time (see cowboy award).

Can you guess what a Polish flooring contractor and damaged gas pipes in a kitchen wall have in common? It’s easy when you hire workers who are unqualified, uninsured but still  willing to ‘give it a go!’ One of my long time clients hired three workers to put down his new solid wood flooring, cheaply. When they finished their day jobs (as flooring installers) they ‘borrowed’ their bosses van and came by to do this floor. While they were working on the floor in the lounge the homeowner asked if they could also install a new cooker extractor which he had just purchased. They said yes. The result? continue

The job was to replace the built in double electric cooker, the extractor and an electric hob. The hob was converted to gas so we had to splice into the gas pipe work which was nearby. After some minor adjustments to the original cabinet work the kitchen looked new again.

We had replaced the home owners cooker a week earlier and he asked us to come back and replace the fan with an extractor unit. We had to move the double socket in order to mount the unit properly but completed the job in shot order.
