Description: A flat owner with no hot water called looking for help as they were having problems finding someone who would work in the City Centre. We accepted and after arriving on site we concluded that the heating element in the stainless steel cylinder had gone bad. We booked an appointment to replace the element for the next morning however the flat owner cancelled the call. They had decided to try and get the work done under insurance. Unfortunately the insurance company sent a plumber around who wasn’t qualified to touch the electrics! Description: A large and leaking open vented cylinder was the initial problem. The second was the bodged repair by the first plumber on site. He tried to stop the leak with a can of expanding foam!! The addition of foam appeared to work to the ‘plumber’ and flat owner who paid him. Within 24 hours of course they notice the leak that was initially being caught with a cooking pot was now hidden and leaking inside of the foam jacket and coming from under the cylinder soaking everything in its path. That’s when we got the call. continue
