Terms and Conditions

  • You will be charged an hourly rate plus congestion charge and parking fees where appliacable for work we undertake for you subject to the following conditions:
  • You will be charged a diagnostic fee in cases where we have been on site and diagnosed a problem that you later decide you do not want repaired by us or where we have carried out a site survey for work which you later decide you no longer require.
  • We do our best to be on time and our policy is to not overbook our appointments. You will be charged a missed call fee for the average time required to carry out the intended job if there is no one available on site the day of an agreed visit no matter what the reason. We require twenty four hours notice during regular business hours if you wish to cancel a service call. Our regular business hours are between 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday.
  • In cases where you have decided to cancel a job already agreed you will be charged the full cost of material already purchased for that job plus an administration fee. Please note that material is ordered or purchased in advance of your confirmed start date. Where materials have already been purchased for the job these materials will be delivered to you once your payment has cleared. You will also be charged for any work already carried out up to the time of cancellation.
  • We make every effort to minimise the disruption to your normal routine while on site. There will be intermittent outages to your hot and cold water, gas and electricity supply in order to facilitate the safe disconnection, connection and testing of your appliance. As safety is our primary concern we may be unable to reconnect services if we find issues which are deemed unsafe and/or against current building regulations.
  • It is the client’s responsibility to remove furniture or other object that obstructs the planned work area prior to the agreed start sate. Advantis Home Maintenance accepts no responsibility for damage to furniture or other personal items left in the work area. There is an additional charge for Advantis Home Maintenance to clear the work area which will be added at our regular hourly fee.
  • Where appliances, either new or used, are supplied by the client they must be complete (including manufacturers installation/service manual),  fully serviceable and fit for purpose. If appliances are found to be unsuitable, unsafe or faulty during commissioning any time already spent to install said appliance and any further time required to repair the appliance as well as any parts required to carry out repairs or time spent to make the site safe as required in current building regulations will be added to the final invoice.
  • When arranging a service or repair, it is important that you provide the correct user and service manual to ensure service and repair is carried out to manufacturer’s instructions. If you do not supply a manual we can obtain one (subject to availability from manufacturer) for a nominal fee of £20.00 per manual.
  • Due to unforeseen circumstances additional work or material is sometimes necessary to complete the project. Issues such as rotten floorboards, unstable plaster, leaking pipe work or improperly earthed pipe work may add substantial time and cost to the project and will be added to the final invoice.
  • Where you request changes to the agreed schedule or ask for other jobs to be carried out after work has already been agreed you will incur additional charges. The charges will be explained ‘on-the-day’ and are subject to the same payment schedule as all other work being undertaken. If extra work cannot be undertaken due to our scheduling final payment will still be due as per our normal policy and extra work will be scheduled for another date.
  • Unless otherwise agreed in our written estimate the removal and/or disposal of decommissioned appliances, associated pipe work, storage vessels, cabinets, building rubble or other work related waste is the responsibility of the client. We can arrange for rubbish removal with a licensed carrier at additional cost.
  • From April 1, 2005 home owners in England and Wales must inform Local Authority Building Control if they install or exchange a gas appliance. We will notify the Local Building Control on your behalf and you will receive a safety certificate shortly after we have finished. A fee of £25.00 will be levied for each certificate issued.
  • From January, 2005 home owners in England and Wales must inform Local Authority Building Control if they make certain changes to the electrics in residential property under Part-P. We will notify NICEIC and the Local Building Control on your behalf if required and you will receive a safety certificate shortly after we have finished. A fee of £25.00 will be levied for each certificate issued.
  • Full payment is due on the day when commissioning and handover of your new system takes place. Payments not made on the day of commissioning will incur interest charges. Payment delays will prevent any warranty work being undertaken until such time as full payment has been made.  In certain circumstances a deposit or partial payment may be necessary, normally one third of the cost, before work commences. On larger projects we may also ask for a percentage of the final payment to cover our weekly expenses. Where the client delays work after the agreed start date Advantis Home Maintenance may also request a percentage of payment to cover material cost and any work already carried out.   • WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE OUR ADVERTISED RATES AND OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS WITHOUT NOTICE.
  • BUILDING REGULATIONS AND THE APPLICABLE LAWS, RULES, AND REGULATIONS CHANGE FREQUENTLY. ACCORDINGLY, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THESE TERMS AT ANY TIME. ANY CHANGES OR MODIFICATIONS WILL BE EFFECTIVE UPON POSTING OF THE REVISIONS ON OUR WEBSITE REFLECTING THE NEW EFFECTIVE DATE. YOU SHOULD FREQUENTLY REVIEW THE TERMS (INCLUDING THE EFFECTIVE DATE) AND APPLICABLE POLICIES FROM TIME TO TIME TO UNDERSTAND THE TERMS THAT APPLY TO YOUR USE OF OUR SERVICES AND/OR USE OF OUR WEBSITE.
  • IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THESE TERMS, PLEASE NOTIFY US WITHIN THE TIME FRAMES SPECIFIED WITHIN THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND WE WILL CANCEL ALL PLANNED WORK. IF YOU DO NOT CONTACT US BEFORE WORK IS SCHEDULED TO START, IT WILL MEAN THAT YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS WHICH WILL BE LEGALLY BINDING ON YOU.
